VA Grants for Accessible Bathroom Solutions from Michael’s Baths

At Michael‘s Baths, we understand how challenging it can be for disabled veterans to find the right bathing solution. That‘s why we are proud to offer the highest quality walkin tubs specifically designed for disabled veterans. Plus, you may qualify for a VA Home Modification Grant to help you purchase and install your walkin bathtub.

We have provided detailed information on the three programs and the necessary links to start the application process, so you can get the bathing solution that best fits your needs.

The VA Offers 3 Grant Programs:

SAH Grants:

The Specially Adapted Housing (SAH) Grant assists in home modifications. The SAH Grant is designed to provide a barrierfree living environment that allows disabilityrelated adaptations to be made to the home. The grant is available to veterans and service members entitled to disability compensation for permanent and total disability due to:

  • loss or loss of use of both lower extremities
  • blindness in both eyes with light perception plus loss or loss of use of one lower extremity
  • loss or loss of use of one lower extremity with the loss or loss of use of one upper extremity
  • loss or loss of use of both upper extremities
  • severe burn injury.

SHA Grants:

Eligibility for the Special Home Adaptation Grant is available to veterans and service members who are and will be entitled to disability compensation for:

  • permanent and total disability due to blindness in both eyes with 5/200 visual acuity or less
  • the anatomical loss or loss of use of both hands or extremities below the elbow
  • or a severe burn injury (as so determined)
